What’s the St. Clair River really like – healthwise, that is?
Friends of the St. Clair River has some answers, which they’ve compiled into a
powerful PowerPoint presentation.
This concise 20-minute presentation, suitable for municipal
assemblies, civic meetings, school venues, business discussions and community
service clubs, entitled “Restoring the St. Clair River,” addresses why the St.
Clair River is one of 43 Great Lakes “Areas of Concern.”
It answers the questions: “Can we drink the water?” “Can we eat
the fish?” “Can we swim at the beaches?”
It quickly discloses accomplishments over the last 30 years, what
still must be done, and what citizens can do – and why.
FOSCR President Darrell Randell says the new visual presentation
was developed to help educate and involve the public in the work BPAC is doing.
“We need to get the information to as many people as possible,”
said Randell. “This presentation is short, current and to-the-point, we want to
answer the questions we know are out there and get people involved.”
